Denver’s new National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) team is in the process of choosing a name, and fans are being asked to help in the decision-making process. The team launched an online poll with six possible names, including Denver FC, Denver Peak FC, Colorado Summit FC, Denver Gold FC, Denver Elevate FC, and Colorado 14ers FC. Fans also have the option to suggest an entirely different name for the team.
The list of potential names was created based on feedback from fans at the team’s launch event and on social media. Fans also have the opportunity to vote on whether the team’s name should represent Colorado or Denver. The team’s controlling owner, Rob Cohen, emphasized that the club belongs to Colorado and that fans have the chance to shape its identity.
The poll will close on February 26, and the team has already seen significant interest since its announcement, breaking an NWSL record for the fastest franchise to reach 5,000 season ticket deposits. The team is also working on finalizing plans for a purpose-built stadium for professional women’s soccer and a performance facility for female athletes.
Additional details regarding the team’s final name, crest, colors, and brand identity will be announced as they are finalized. The team is set to make a mark in history as Denver’s first professional women’s sports franchise.
