An explosion at a home in Long Beach, California left one person injured and destroyed an accessory dwelling unit (ADU) on Monday. The blast occurred shortly after 11 a.m., and a man in his late 30s was taken to a local hospital with injuries. The cause of the explosion is still under investigation, with fire officials looking into reports from neighbors about what they observed or heard. Initially, it was believed that the explosion was related to a gas leak caused by an appliance, possibly a dryer, on the property. SoCal Edison reported over 1,900 power outages in the area following the incident. The status of the injured man’s condition remains unknown.
