House Democrats Seek Access to Epstein’s ‘Birthday Book’

President Trump recently dismissed questions about Jeffrey Epstein as he arrived in Glasgow for a five-day trip. This comes amid House Democrats’ efforts to obtain Epstein’s alleged “birthday book,” which reportedly includes a lewd letter from Trump. Reps. Ro Khanna and Robert Garcia from California made the request in a letter directed to Epstein’s estate lawyers on July 25, emphasizing the book’s relevance for ongoing congressional oversight regarding the Justice Department’s handling of Epstein’s investigation.

The controversy arises from a Wall Street Journal report claiming Trump wrote a birthday letter to Epstein featuring a crude sketch of a naked woman, signed with “Donald” in a manner resembling pubic hair. This letter reportedly belongs to a leather-bound collection of correspondence given to Epstein. Khanna and Garcia argue that the Justice Department’s review of Epstein-related files has been poorly managed, with many documents being withheld from the public even after a subpoena for relevant materials.

They have requested an “unredacted copy” of the book by August 10, just before Ghislaine Maxwell, a longtime associate of Epstein, is scheduled for a deposition. Garcia stated that the public deserves transparency regarding the individuals in Epstein’s circle, particularly those still in positions of power. In response to the report, Trump labeled it “FAKE” and has taken legal action against the Wall Street Journal, suing them on July 18 over the claims made in the article.
