Despite the ongoing conflict, Russia has reportedly indicated a willingness to drop its claim to parts of Ukraine it does not currently occupy, potentially leading to a ceasefire along existing frontlines. The situation remains tense as various cities across Ukraine have been targeted in recent attacks, resulting in casualties and destruction. The US is holding separate peace talks with Russia and Ukraine, with their Ukraine envoy, Gen Keith Kellogg, taking part in discussions in London hosted by the UK foreign secretary, David Lammy. China has denied providing military support to Russia despite Ukrainian claims of Chinese involvement in the conflict.
