Residents mandated to evacuate in vicinity of wildfire blazing in Northern Colorado


A wildfire has prompted mandatory evacuations in the 4300 block of West County Road 54G in LaPorte, Colorado. The Larimer Office of Emergency Management ordered the evacuations on Tuesday afternoon. In addition to the mandatory evacuations, voluntary evacuations have been ordered in the LaPorte area from the Cache La Poudre River area from Rawhide Drive to the new Highway 287 bypass and north of the bypass. The Poudre Fire Authority is working to extinguish the second-alarm wildfire northwest of Fort Collins and LaPorte, with multiple crews creating a fire line. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and the size of the wildfire has not yet been determined. LaPorte is located approximately 68 miles northwest of Denver.
