Denver Film’s popular Film on the Rocks series is back for its 26th year, showcasing a lineup of fan-favorite movies that combine nostalgia, critical acclaim, and entertainment. Kicking off the season on June 9 with the classic sci-fi film “2001: A Space Odyssey,” the series will run until August 18 with the animated hit “Shrek 2” as the finale. Each screening will feature pre-show entertainment starting at 7 p.m., with the movie presentation at 8 p.m. Tickets are priced at $25 per screening, with VIP reserved seating available for $50. Local comedian Janae Burris will emcee each event, with pre-show entertainment including Comedy Works comedians and musical performances by Big Dopes, The Martini Shot, School of Rock, blankslate, and Shrek Rave. The full lineup includes “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl,” “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory,” and “Legally Blonde.” Tickets go on sale on April 25 at denverfilm.org.
