Denver resident Tara De La Fuente has been feeding those in need in the Five Points area for almost five years. Rain or shine, she shows up at Holy Trinity Church every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday to provide meals for the community. With the help of multiple people, businesses, and community members, De La Fuente ensures that no dinner is ever canceled, and those in need can rely on her consistent support.
Recently, the generosity of Denver7 viewers and Safeway stores has allowed De La Fuente to continue her mission. With a donation from Safeway, she was able to double her order of chicken to 100 pieces for a special Easter Sunday meal. Additionally, Safeway provided her with $300 worth of gift cards to continue providing meals for the community in the upcoming days.
The impact of the community’s contributions is evident in the smiles on the faces of those receiving the food. De La Fuente expresses her gratitude to everyone involved in supporting her cause and wishes them a Happy Easter. Denver7 is committed to making a difference in the community by showcasing individuals like De La Fuente who go above and beyond to help those in need. The spirit of giving and community support continues to make a meaningful impact on those facing hardship in Denver.
