Handyman named person of interest in the discovery of Marcia Norman’s remains

Investigators discovered that Marcia Norman had dinner with her handyman, Jeffrey Zizz, on April 1. Norman, an 82-year-old Washington woman, went missing under suspicious circumstances, with her remains later found under a shed that Zizz allegedly built. Zizz, a convicted child molester, was named the primary person of interest in Norman’s disappearance. He was arrested on unrelated charges and extradited back to Washington after fleeing to Montana. Zizz previously pleaded guilty to molesting his children and was sentenced to nearly nine years in jail, but was released after 11 months due to time served. Detectives found evidence linking Zizz to Norman’s disappearance, including the fact that he borrowed a friend’s vehicle and left the area after she went missing. Norman’s vehicles were still parked at her home, and her house appeared to show signs of her leaving in a hurry. Zizz was interviewed multiple times during the investigation, and his activities, such as building a shed the day after Norman was reported missing, raised suspicions. Human remains, confirmed to be Norman’s, were found under the shed, leading authorities to seize Zizz’s vehicle and continue the investigation. Zizz’s history of abusing his children and targeting his daughters was documented in court records, and he was ordered to serve community custody until 2032. USA TODAY has reached out to a defense attorney for Zizz for comment on this ongoing investigation.
