Colorado has been recognized as the seventh friendliest state in the country, according to rankings released by World Population Review. The state was praised for its friendly residents with inclusive and progressive mindsets, offering family-friendly cities and mountains filled with activities and art. Colorado also ranked No. 7 on Big 7 Travel’s list of friendliest states, where social media followers voted on the rankings. Despite ranking No. 19 on Zippia’s list with an average tipping rate of 16.6%, Colorado also landed at No. 24 on the list of rudest states due to its percentage of rude drivers.
The top and bottom of World Population Review’s list corresponded with reputation, with New York being named the least friendly state and Minnesota topping the list with its “Minnesota nice” reputation. Neighboring states in the Southwest and Rockies, such as Arizona (39th) and Utah (32nd), ranked in the bottom half of the survey for friendliness. Meanwhile, New Mexico (17th) and Nebraska (13th) fared better, and Wyoming (fifth), Kansas (eighth), and Oklahoma (ninth) surrounded Colorado in the rankings.
Overall, Colorado was recognized for its friendly atmosphere and positive and welcoming community spirit, making it a top destination for visitors and residents alike.
