The Denver Police Department is ramping up security measures in downtown Denver to ensure the safety of Colorado Rockies fans during Opening Weekend. With increased patrols and officers on hand, the police department is working to keep the public safe as fans enjoy the festivities near Coors Field. McGregor Square, located steps away from the stadium, is offering a fun and safe environment for fans to enjoy the baseball games with added security measures in place.
“We have a 66-foot LED screen where you can come and watch the game with your friends. We have a couple of purple drink specials, and we got some purple Jell-O shots,” said Brooke Bishop, chief operating officer of McGregor Square.
Amidst all the excitement, the Denver Police Department is ensuring that security remains a top priority with officers patrolling on foot and bikes, as well as implementing road closures and traffic control around the stadium. The Colorado Rockies are looking to end a five-game slide as they face off against the Athletics on Saturday evening at 6:10 p.m. Fans can expect a safe and enjoyable experience as they celebrate the start of the baseball season in Denver.
