Five new Daiso stores to open in Colorado in 2021

Japanese variety store chain Daiso has recently expanded into Colorado with locations in Fort Collins and Aurora. Known for its affordable household goods, the chain offers a wide range of products from home décor to snacks. With over 150 stores in the U.S., Daiso has established itself as a go-to destination for low-cost Japanese items.

The expansion in Colorado includes new stores in Centennial and Arvada, in addition to a second location in Aurora. The chain’s popularity has been fueled by its affordable prices and the current trend of Japanese goods in the U.S. With most items priced around $1.50, Daiso caters to a broad audience of younger consumers and families.

Brian Prettyman, the Northwest Regional Director for Daiso, describes the chain as the “Walmart of Japan” and highlights the demand for the store’s unique business model. The company utilizes social media for advertising, resulting in viral TikTok videos of the Fort Collins store opening. With upcoming locations in Centennial, Aurora, and Arvada, Daiso aims to provide a diverse range of Japanese goods to customers in Colorado.

The Centennial location, set to open on April 12th, will be the largest in Colorado, offering not only Daiso products but also the Japanese brand Standard Products. The store’s expansion reflects the brand’s commitment to serving a diverse customer base and meeting the rising demand for affordable Japanese goods.
