The Colorado State Rams have named Ali Farokhmanesh as their new head basketball coach, succeeding Niko Medved who recently left for the University of Minnesota. Farokhmanesh, who has been an assistant and associate head coach for the Rams for the past seven seasons, is praised for his leadership and popularity among players, fans, and the administration. The decision to promote Farokhmanesh was an easy and right choice, given his experience and strong connections within the CSU community.
Under Farokhmanesh’s leadership, the Rams had a successful season, winning 26 games, the Mountain West Conference Championship, and reaching the NCAA tournament’s second round. Farokhmanesh expressed gratitude for the opportunity and looks forward to continuing to build on the team’s success. He will be officially introduced as head coach at a press conference in Moby Arena, open to the public, on Friday at 11 a.m.
Farokhmanesh holds a degree in finance from the University of Northern Iowa and a master’s degree in educational administration from Nebraska. He is married with children and is excited to continue fostering relationships within the CSU community. Fans are encouraged to attend the press conference to welcome the new coach and show their support for the team’s future success.
