City Park Jazz, a popular annual series of free jazz concerts in Denver, is set to return on June 1. The lineup includes a diverse range of artists, from funk to soul to mambo, who will perform at the pavilion on the banks of Ferril Lake every Sunday evening throughout the summer.
Attendees are invited to enjoy the concerts from 6 to 8 p.m. while lounging on blankets, playing games, and picnicking. Food trucks and a bike corral will also be available. However, glass, marijuana, and motorized vehicles are not allowed at the events.
Some highlights of this year’s schedule include performances by artists such as Blessing Bled Chimanga, Karen Lee Bridge and The Bridge 12, ATOMGA, and The Colorado Mambo Orchestra. The lineup promises a mix of afrobeat, funk, salsa, and jazz music for all to enjoy.
The season will culminate with a brass band extravaganza featuring The Rowdy Brass Band, Tivoli Club Brass Band, and Guerrilla Fanfare on August 3. With a variety of genres and styles, City Park Jazz offers a vibrant and inclusive space for music lovers in Denver to come together and celebrate the summer.
