Denver Forecast: Clear Skies and Balmy Temperatures Thursday Ahead of Oncoming Storm | News

Denver residents can enjoy unseasonably warm temperatures on Thursday before a fast-moving storm hits Friday, bringing rain and snow to the area. The National Weather Service in Boulder reports that Thursday will see a high of 69 degrees, 15 degrees warmer than usual for this time of year. However, a quick-moving storm is expected to bring snow to the mountains and rain and snow to the Denver metro area and the Eastern Plains overnight into Friday.

The storm will bring a 20% chance of rain after 3 a.m. Friday in Denver, with temperatures dropping to a low of 37 degrees overnight. On Friday, rain and snow are likely, with light winds in the morning increasing to 15-20 mph in the afternoon. Despite this, not much snow is expected to stick in the Denver area, with highs reaching into the mid 50s. Windy conditions are also expected on the plains.

The National Weather Service warns that the winter storm will mainly impact areas west of Highway 93, with the Indian Peaks Wilderness area likely experiencing hazardous driving conditions and possible road closures. The storm will begin to move out of the area by Friday evening, leading to improved weather conditions for the weekend.

Denver residents should prepare for a sudden shift in weather from warm temperatures on Thursday to rain and snow on Friday, but overall impacts are expected to be minimal in the city. Stay updated on weather forecasts and conditions as the storm approaches.
