Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James made history on Tuesday by becoming the first NBA player to accumulate 50,000 points in both regular season and postseason games. He achieved this milestone during the Lakers’ 136-115 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans, where he scored 34 points, in addition to eight rebounds and six assists.
Of his 50,033 total points, James has scored 41,817 in regular season games and 8,162 in postseason games, a feat that no other player has come close to achieving. He is also the only player to exceed 40,000 points in the regular season. Despite turning 40 in December, James continues to impress, recently being named the Western Conference Player of the Month.
Reflecting on his career, James expressed gratitude for the opportunity to play at the highest level and to enjoy a successful career. He emphasized the importance of maintaining a passion for the game and the process of continually improving. Despite the challenges of a long NBA season and the demands of travel, family, and age, James remains dedicated to his craft.
The Lakers’ win against the Pelicans also propelled them to second place in the Western Conference, setting them on track for their best regular season since winning the NBA title in 2019-20. With James leading the way, the Lakers are poised for continued success as they navigate the rest of the season.
