A Colorado grand jury has indicted ten individuals for their alleged involvement in a drug trafficking ring that operated between Adams County and Prowers County from February to October 2024. The suspects are accused of selling illicit substances such as fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, and methamphetamines. The investigation led to the seizure of significant quantities of drugs, including over 13.5 kilograms of fentanyl and pills containing fentanyl, as well as over 5.4 kilograms of methamphetamine. One suspect, Hyatt, was found in possession of 1,471.5 grams of fentanyl, 2,017.3 grams of methamphetamine, 125.5 grams of cocaine, and 86.8 grams of heroin during a traffic stop. Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser emphasized the impact of illegal drugs on communities, stating that they contribute to crime, harm families, and fuel the overdose crisis. The suspects are facing charges of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance. Weiser stressed the importance of holding traffickers accountable and preventing dangerous drugs from entering Colorado communities to save lives. The investigation and arrests were part of efforts to combat drug-related crime in the state.
