The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office recently conducted a narcotics operation in Aurora, resulting in the arrest of four suspects. Three of these suspects had previously been deported to Honduras. The operation took place at a house on South Jasper Circle in Aurora, where deputies found a small amount of fentanyl powder, $15,000 in cash, and several firearms. Two of the firearms were reported stolen. The suspects, Cesar Raudales-Banegas, Jose Lopez-Zuniga, Alex Adonay-Moncada, and Marvin Mejia, were all taken into custody. Lopez-Zuniga and Mejia had felony warrants out of Denver for drug distribution. All four suspects have been handed over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for further investigation.
It is still unclear which three of the suspects had previously been deported to Honduras. This operation was a joint effort between the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit and the Aurora Police Department SWAT Team. The sheriff’s office did not disclose any additional details about the case, but the arrest underscores the ongoing issue of narcotics and illegal gun possession in the Aurora area. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of collaboration between law enforcement agencies to combat drug-related crimes in the community.
