A Colorado woman, Ashley White, has been convicted of second-degree murder in connection with the death of her boyfriend, Cody DeLisa, in 2020. Authorities say White teamed up with a stranger, known as “Scott,” to kill DeLisa after he doubted her chances of getting a job. The couple had a tumultuous relationship, with DeLisa criticizing White for not being able to secure full-time employment. In August 2020, after a job interview, DeLisa expressed skepticism about White’s chances of getting the job, which upset her. White met Scott on a bus, and they devised a plan to kill DeLisa. Shortly after, DeLisa was found shot to death in their home.
White and Scott were accused of stealing DeLisa’s wallet after the murder. A breakthrough in the case came in 2023 when a woman identifying herself as Michael Stratton’s girlfriend contacted authorities, claiming he had confessed to being involved in DeLisa’s murder. White’s trial began on Jan. 6, and she was found guilty of second-degree murder, conspiracy to commit second-degree murder, and robbery. District Attorney Brian Mason stated that White’s actions led to the victim’s death and that she would pay a significant price. White is scheduled for sentencing on April 4. Although Scott has not been charged in connection with DeLisa’s murder, he had been arrested for a separate murder that occurred after DeLisa’s death.
