Poilievre has proposed changes that would prioritize Canadian workers for job opportunities, potentially making it more difficult for Indian students and immigrants to secure study permits or permanent residency. However, some experts believe that these changes could attract more serious students who are willing to work in fields that Canada needs.
Tirath Singh, an immigration consultant, noted that while the changes may pose challenges for Indian nationals, Canada will continue to rely on migrants to support its economy. The future of international students in Canada remains uncertain as the country navigates through a transition in leadership and potential changes to immigration policies.
