Aurora Police Arrest Two Fugitives, Seize Drugs and 3D-Printed Gun
Aurora, CO – The Aurora Police Department’s gang unit made significant strides in their ongoing narcotics investigation by arresting two fugitives on December 27. The arrests included 28-year-old Abel Gebretsadik, who has established gang connections and faces drug charges, and 31-year-old Majid Ahmed, wanted for theft.
Authorities said Gebretsadik was wanted on a felony warrant from Douglas District Court for the distribution of fentanyl and had a history of evading law enforcement. The police learned he was at a local mall and executed a coordinated plan to apprehend him. Alongside Gebretsadik, Ahmed was also arrested due to an outstanding misdemeanor warrant from Arapahoe County.
The police seized more than one ounce of crack cocaine, over $7,000 in cash, and a 3D-printed firearm, which is believed to be capable of firing .22-caliber ammunition. This discovery highlights growing concerns surrounding untraceable weapons and increased drug distribution activities in the area.
Gebretsadik now faces serious charges in Arapahoe District Court, including two felony counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute and two misdemeanor counts of obstruction of a peace officer. Ahmed has been booked into the Aurora Detention Center in connection with his outstanding warrant.
The arrests are a part of ongoing efforts by local law enforcement to combat drug-related crimes and gang activity. The Aurora Police Department encourages anyone with additional information regarding this case or similar incidents to reach out to Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
