Cub Scout Pack Provides Christmas Tree Pickup Service in Parker, Colorado

Sustainable Christmas Tree Disposal in Parker: Support Your Local Cubs!

Parker, CO – Residents looking to dispose of their Christmas trees sustainably can now do so while supporting local Cub Scout Pack 396. The pack has been actively collecting trees from community members who registered online, with young scouts eagerly participating in the effort.

Nine-year-old Bear Cub Riker Reese confidently takes charge, loading trees into his father’s truck. His sister, six-year-old Evie, also a Cub Scout, shares her enthusiasm for scouting and her appreciation for the camaraderie it brings. Cubmaster Jared Reese highlights the program’s benefits: "This is a lot of fun, because it gets them outside and helps them learn real-life skills."

The initiative not only facilitates tree disposal; it also promotes sustainability. Once collected, the trees are transported to a local park where the Town of Parker mulches them for community use. Riker emphasizes the importance of recycling the trees, stressing that without their effort, the trees would simply decay with no additional purpose.

In exchange for their services, the Cubs ask for a $10 donation. This funding helps cover costs for scouting scholarships, ensuring that all children can participate in scouting activities, such as camping and training for leaders. Participation in the program allows Cubs to embody the values of the Scout Law and Oath.

Pack 396 will conduct tree pickups on December 28, 29, and January 4, 5. Residents interested in scheduling a pickup can visit coloradopack396.com. By participating, Parker residents can contribute to creating a sustainable community while enriching the experiences of local children involved in scouting.
