Miami (Ohio) Dominates Colorado State 43-17 in Arizona Bowl

In an impressive performance, Miami (Ohio) triumphed over Colorado State 43-17 in the Arizona Bowl, thanks to standout efforts from Kevin Davis and Jordan Brunson. Davis led the charge with a career-high 148 rushing yards and two touchdowns on just nine carries, while Brunson also added two touchdown runs for the RedHawks.

The game saw Miami take control in the second half. Davis opened the scoring in the third quarter with a 4-yard touchdown run, followed by a turnover from Colorado State. Matt Salopek forced a fumble recovered by Silas Walters, which set up quarterback Brett Gabbert’s 10-yard rushing touchdown, extending the lead to 22-3.

The highlight of the game came when Davis executed a spectacular 97-yard touchdown run, marking the longest in RedHawks history and pushing the lead to 26 points with just over six minutes left in the third quarter. This remarkable play solidified Miami’s dominance in the contest.

Despite the loss, Colorado State had its moments, with Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi connecting on a 56-yard touchdown pass to Stephon Bailey and Peter Montini scoring on a 1-yard run. The Rams struggled with turnovers, committing four that Miami converted into 19 points.

Miami (Ohio), finishing the season at 9-5, has now improved its bowl game record to 9-7. Meanwhile, Colorado State, ending the season at 8-5, made their first bowl appearance since 2017.

RedHawks kicker Dom Dzioban also made his mark by successfully converting three field goals, tying him for the second-most in a single season in program history, further contributing to the team’s solid victory.
