Bradley Robert Dawson, a Tennessee man, was convicted in Fiji for the murder of his wife, Christie Chen, while they were honeymooning at a luxury resort on the island. Chen was found dead in their bungalow with multiple traumatic injuries and blunt force trauma to the head. The case gained international attention as it took place at a resort featured in the movie “The Blue Lagoon.” Dawson was found guilty of murder and faces sentencing in January. The incident occurred at Turtle Island Fiji, a luxury resort, where the couple was staying. Dawson had his passport and personal belongings with him at the time of his arrest, indicating he planned to flee the country. The couple had been married for only a few months before Chen’s murder, and Dawson had recently finalized a divorce from his first wife. Chen worked as a pharmacist while Dawson was working at a charity in Memphis. The Fiji Times reported that Justice Riyaz Hamza was convinced beyond reasonable doubt that Dawson committed the offense.
