Minor Injuries Reported in Centennial House Fire
CENTENNIAL, Colo. — A house fire in Centennial on Sunday resulted in minor injuries to two Arapahoe County deputies and a South Metro firefighter. The incident occurred around noon at a residence located on the 4800 block of S. Gibraltar Lane.
According to South Metro Fire crews, all individuals inside the home managed to evacuate safely. However, the two deputies sustained injuries while rescuing two juveniles from the backyard during the emergency response. The firefighters also reported that, while the human occupants were unharmed, a dog and five cats remained unaccounted for following the blaze.
The deputies received treatment on-site for their injuries, while the firefighter was transported to a hospital for further evaluation. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire approximately one hour after their arrival, though the extent of the damage to the property has yet to be determined.
An investigation is currently underway to establish the cause of the fire, as authorities work to gather more details about the incident.
