Denver Broncos receiver Josh Reynolds was injured in a shooting on Friday in the Denver area. According to a statement from the team, Reynolds sustained minor injuries and received treatment. The incident occurred after he and another victim were followed and shot at after leaving a strip club in the early morning hours. Both victims were in a vehicle at the time of the shooting and were taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the shooting and they are being held for investigation of attempted first degree murder and first degree assault. Reynolds, who signed a two-year deal with the Broncos in March, has played in five games this season and has 12 catches for 183 yards and a touchdown. He was placed on injured reserve after sustaining a finger injury that required surgery during a Week 5 game.
Despite being on injured reserve, Reynolds has been seen working out on the sidelines during team practices. The 29-year-old has also been dealing with an Achilles injury this season. The Broncos have stated that they will defer further comment on the matter to the authorities out of respect for the legal process. Reynolds’ wellbeing and recovery will continue to be monitored by the team as he remains sidelined due to the injuries.
