Trump continues spreading false anti-immigrant claims at Pennsylvania rally while Musk encourages voter participation – live updates on US elections 2024

Former President Donald Trump rallied supporters in Butler, Pennsylvania, three months after surviving an assassination attempt there. He was joined by prominent figures such as Elon Musk and Eric and Lara Trump, all of whom criticized immigrants and the Democratic party. Meanwhile, Vice President Kamala Harris visited North Carolina to assess hurricane damage and received a briefing from Fema officials. Bernie Sanders campaigned in Michigan, while others, such as Kerry Washington, prepared to visit Arizona.

During the rally in Butler, Trump reiterated his usual talking points on immigration, gender-affirming healthcare, fracking, and his opponents. He emphasized the importance of the upcoming election, highlighting his desire to “make America great again”.

Elon Musk, a major contributor to the Trump campaign, encouraged rally-goers to register to vote and emphasized the need to fight against non-citizens voting in the election. The event also included a moment of silence for Corey Comperatore, a first responder killed at the July rally in Butler. Lara Trump and Eric Trump both spoke, with Lara claiming that the Democratic party attempted to kill Donald Trump and emphasizing the importance of free and fair elections.

The rally in Butler coincided with Harris’ visit to North Carolina, raising concerns about the balance of public events between the two campaigns. Despite ongoing security concerns, Trump continued to address his supporters with inflammatory rhetoric and promises of a prosperous future for America.
