Donald Trump’s presidential campaign has announced its official transition team, indicating confidence in winning the upcoming election. The team, led by Linda McMahon and Howard Lutnick, is required by law to prepare for assuming the presidency in case of a victory. Transition teams are meant to facilitate a smooth handover of power, a process that faced challenges after the 2020 election due to Trump’s protests and the events of Jan. 6. Vice President Kamala Harris will also appoint a transition team in preparation for the Democratic nomination. The Trump transition team includes McMahon, former head of the Small Business Administration, and Lutnick, CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald, both major campaign donors. Additionally, Vice presidential nominee JD Vance and Trump’s sons, Donald Trump, Jr. and Eric Trump, serve as honorary co-chairs. Trump expressed confidence in the team’s readiness to govern effectively from Day One.
