A wildfire in Larimer County, known as the Alexander Mountain fire, has grown to more than 3,500 acres, forcing the evacuation of over 3,200 residents. Despite the extreme conditions, including high heat and dryness, no buildings have been destroyed and no injuries reported. The fire, which started on Monday, has rapidly spread in multiple directions, prompting a strong response from over 270 firefighters and additional resources expected to arrive. The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office has issued both mandatory and voluntary evacuations for affected areas, with livestock and animals also being moved to safety.

Local shelters are providing assistance to evacuated residents, with some sharing their resilient spirit in the face of potential loss. Meanwhile, a wildfire in Boulder County near Lyons has also led to evacuations in the Eagle Ridge area. Deputy Sheriff Vinnie Montez posted a video updating on the situation and crews are assessing the fire in the Stone Canyon area.

Efforts to contain both fires are ongoing, with firefighting teams prioritizing safety and diligently working to protect residents and their homes. The community has come together to support those affected by the wildfires, with resources being made available through the Red Cross and evacuation shelters providing assistance to displaced individuals. Despite the challenges posed by the fires, residents like Kara Miller and Handel Smith are maintaining a positive outlook and relying on faith to navigate through this difficult time.
